Ha nothing, it's just sitting in my parents' driveway 4,000 miles away while I'm studying abroad here in France. Haven't seen it since September and I miss driving.

Oh, interesting! I thought you were originally from France and were studying in America. How do you like life in France?

It has its ups and downs. Cool being able to travel everywhere, and I like that people are all about fresh food here (even though I'm not a super adventurous eater myself). The bureaucracy can be a bit absurd at times and I'm fairly homesick at the moment, but the French are pretty nice and I've got lots of visitors on the way.

Honestly it's a bigger change living in a huge city (Paris), since I'm from a town of about 10,000 people and my university town is only 120,000. I'd probably say that I would consider living in France again for a job if I could bring my family, but will try and avoid living in a big city again if possible.

I really liked living in a small town in the South (Of France, as opposed to my normal small town in the South of the US) but I wasn't too thrilled with my Paris experiences.

Yeah, it's been very… different what I was expecting. Obviously there's no way I could have anticipated it, but still. I think if I could do it again I'd seek out an experience in a smaller town. The big cities seem to draw all the international students who travel for all the "wrong" reasons.

The food is what drives me insane the most outside of France. And here in Auckland it's the same. It's really hard to find some fresh stuff. Convience stores only have a couple of fruits, and you must go to the supermarket if you want anything fresh.

Yeah I know that will definitely be part of the reverse culture shock when I return home. Not looking forward to going back to American bread. I could always get something that passes for a baguette in America, but it's like five times the price.

It's hard to get rid of it when you started on French bread, especially when you have some at each lunch. You can always try to bake it yourself, it's not that hard. Basically you just need an oven and maybe something to knead the dough to make it easier.

I need to find a French bakery in Auckland, I'm gonna go crazy otherwise I think.

There's got to be one somewhere around there! My girlfriend actually took a bread making class when she was visiting me in Paris, so I'm hoping she can keep me supplied on the cheap haha.
